LAPEROS(R) LCP Grade Composition This page's PDF(619KB)

1. Introduction

LAPEROS® LCP is a kind of liquid crystal polymer (LCP) with a unique chemical structure, which is classified as a wholly aromatic polyester. It is greatly different from conventional polyester polymers in respect to chemical structure and morphology and, for that reason, characteristics of not only physical and mechanical properties, but also processability are greatly different.

All LAPEROS grades are thermoplastic and therefore can be processed on conventional injection molding machines. However, injection molding machines of high-temperature or corrosive-resistant specification may be required depending on the grade. Generally speaking, LAPEROS has low melt viscosity when melted and shows high rigidity when solidified. Additionally, its mechanical properties show anisotropy. General guides for injection molding of LAPEROS are described in this section; however, please consult with us about molding of specialty grades.

* Storage of Pellets

LAPEROS is delivered in a moisture-proof package after thoroughly drying. Please keep packages on pallets and store them in a dry place to protect from staining and breakage. Immediately reseal an open package to prevent contamination of foreign materials and moisture absorption.
