Chair Museum / Chairs that vary depending on managerial position

The Okamura Museum was established in 2009. Visitors can learn about the technical and technological history of chair making and also the role of plastics in achieving more comfortable chairs based on ergonomics. Chairs that vary depending on managerial position

Chairs that vary depending on managerial position (1960-1970)

The photograph shows the Model 2263 debuted in 1960. It is a chair for senior executives. Around this time, the higher the managerial position, the more likely the chair incorporated armrests rather than none at all and the larger the seat back became. In this way, a hierarchy emerged based on the appearance of the chair.
The more high class the chair, the thicker the urethane, while cloth fabric replaced PVC leather as the covering and sitting comfort and feel were improved.
