DURAFIDE® is an entirely new linear PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) resin having the chemical structure as shown here:

DURAFIDE has characteristics equivalent or superior to conventional PPS resins in respect to heat resistance, flame resistance, chemical resistance and dimensional stability, which are inherent characteristics of PPS resins in general. Because of a linear type polymer structure, it also has other characteristics as described below:

1)
High elongation and impact strength to greatly reduce brittleness which was considered a defect in PPS resins before.

2)
Fewer ionic impurities for applications where high-level electrical properties are required.

3)
Excellent heat stability for ease in processing.

4)
High weld strength for greater ease of threading, press-fitting and other secondary processing.

5)
The color is nearly white, allowing coloring in any desired color.
