Yokohama was the first city in Japan in which a modern waterworks system was constructed. The Yokohama Waterworks Commemoration Hall and Waterworks Technology Commemoration Hall displays materials and videos that present how Yokohama's waterworks system was developed. Many types of plastic are used for the internal parts of a lever type (ball valve type) auxiliary stop cock. The bucket for housing the ball valve is made of polyoxymethylene (POM). The commercial name for that is "DURACON." The cap packing in the white area in the photo is made of polyethylene.
