Yokohama Waterworks Commemoration Hall / Various tangentiai-flow-impeller water meters1
Yokohama was the first city in Japan in which a modern waterworks system was constructed. The Yokohama Waterworks Commemoration Hall and Waterworks Technology Commemoration Hall displays materials and videos that present how Yokohama's waterworks system was developed. The current tangential-flow-impeller water meters are now in use as compact water meters.
Water meters of this type use the current flowing into the inlet to rotate the impeller inside the case and integrate the rotations of the impeller via a gear.
Current tangential-flow-impeller water meters are classified into two types - single-case type and multiple-case type.
