Born in 1925. Kashio aspired to become an inventor from the age of 6. After working as a telegraph engineer for a government ministry, he began to develop a computing device with his older brother Tadao and younger brothers Kazuo and Yukio. In 1957, he completed the 14-A, the world's first compact all-electric calculator and founded Casio Computer Co., Ltd. Kashio went on to produce a large number of inventions including calculators, watches, and electronic instruments. Kashio obtained 313 patents (including joint patents) by the time he died in 2012. His was a life devoted to invention.
