Bandai Museum / Superalloy

The Advanced Technology Exhibition Hall @ TEPIA was established by Association for Technological Excellence Promoting Innovative Advances (TEPIA) in 1989. It is a venue in which visitors can learn about a variety of advanced technologies that are the pride of Japan. They can also learn about the role plastics play in these technologies. (For more information, see the February 2011 issue of the PR magazine pla-topia.) http://tepia.jp/exhibition/index.html

Superalloy

Superalloy

In the world of manufacturing materials, superalloy is known for high performance. But in the world of toys superalloy has a different significance. In the original manga story MAZINGER Z, the MAZINGER Z robot is made of a metal called superalloy. Popy (now Bandai), the company that originally manufactured and sold the MAZINGER Z character models, applied the name "superalloy" to their zinc alloy products reproduced by die-casting. The solid feel of these Superalloy Mazinger Z models is one of the main reasons for their popularity. The models are made using zinc alloy and ABS resin materials.
