Advanced Technology Exhibition Hall@TEPIA / WINDLENS TURBINE
The Advanced Technology Exhibition Hall @ TEPIA was established by Association for Technological Excellence Promoting Innovative Advances (TEPIA) in 1989. It is a venue in which visitors can learn about a variety of advanced technologies that are the pride of Japan. They can also learn about the role plastics play in these technologies. (For more information, see the February 2011 issue of the PR magazine pla-topia.) http://tepia.jp/exhibition/index.html

WINDLENS TURBINE
By attaching cap brim-like structures to wind turbine blades, compact yet efficient wind turbine power generation can be realized. Using a combination of a hollow structure (diffuser) and brims, vortexes that are generated produce negative pressure at the downstream side of the turbine. This structure collects wind that is generated and through this, 1.3-1.5-times the normal wind speed and 2-3-times the power generation quantity can be extracted. Another advantage is that noise from low frequencies during rotation can be suppressed.
