LAPEROS(R) LCP


<Important>

· Consult the appropriate bulletins for the grade to be used, technical data or Material Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for proper use of LAPEROS® LCP.

 

<Hazards>

· If LAPEROS pellets lie scattered on the passage or floor, you may slip and stumble. Clean the passage or floor immediately.

· If LAPEROS is caught on fire, use water, foam fire extinguishing system, chemical powder fire extinguishing system or carbon dioxide fire extinguishing system.

 

<Notes For Molding>

· Predry pellets at 140 - 160°C for more than 4 hours (max 24 hours). It is also advisable to use a hopper dryer (110 - 120°C) to keep pellets dry during molding. To prevent decomposition of the material, observe the material temperature and the in-cylinder retention time listed below:

 

1) Optimum material temperatures

A series 290 - 320°C   (Keep the temp below 350°C.)
B series 290 - 320°C   (Keep the temp below 350°C.)
C series 330 - 350°C   (Keep the temp below 350°C.)
T series 370 - 380°C   (Keep the temp below 385°C.)
Ei series 340 - 365°C   (Keep the temp below 370°C.)
S series 355 - 380°C   (Keep the temp below 385°C.)

 

2) Limit in-cylinder retention time

A series 320°C / within 30 minutes
B series 320°C / within 30 minutes
C series 350°C / within 30 minutes
T series 370°C / within 20 minutes
Ei series 365°C / within 30 minutes
S series 370°C / within 20 minutes

 

· If the material decomposed or suspected to be decomposed, reduce the cylinder temperature, and purge (discharge) the material from the cylinder. During purging, wear safety goggles and keep your hands and face away from the nozzle section.

· When shutting down the molding operation, purge LAPEROS by glass reinforced Polycarbonate (PC). And then, decrease cylinder temperature under 330 deg. and purge PC by high density polyethylene (HDPE) again. At last, turn the heater off.

· Do not mix any colorants, additives or resins of other brands with LAPEROS, except those we recommend.

· Keep the workplace ventilated locally or entirely during operation.
