Yokohama Waterworks Commemoration Hall / Water feed system
A water feed system branched out from an underground distribution pipe (water feed pipe) carries tap water to faucets in the house.A ferrule provided with a saddle is attached on top of the pipe. The ferrule directs water through a hole in the distribution pipe and supplies it to the inside of the house through a flexible stainless steel pipe and meter. The distribution pipes are mainly made of steel, but water feed systems with bore diameters of 50 mm or less will often adopt a hard polyvinyl chloride pipe on the downstream side of the meter.Among the steel pipes used, the mainstream is hard polyvinyl chloride-lined steel pipes. These are pipes with an inner coating of a hard polyvinyl chloride resin. They are inexpensive and have excellent impact resistance and workability.
