  Molding technology for Fortron

Introduction

Fortron
is an entirely new linear PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) resin.

Fortron outperforms, if not, at least comparable with conventional PPS resins in respect of heat resistance, flame resistance, chemicals resistance and dimensional stability, which are known as inherent characteristics of PPS resins in general. Because of linear type polymeric structure, it also has such other characteristics as described below.

  1. High elongation and impact strength to greatly improve brittleness which was considered as a defective point of the PPS resins before.
  2. Less amount of ionic impurities to find applications where electrical properties of high level are required.
  3. Excellent heat stability for ease in processing.
  4. High weld strength to make itself readily available for threading, press-fitting and other secondary processing.
  5. The color is nearly white, so available for coloring in any desired color.
