In
principle, in the recycling of sprues and runners, recycled
material should be limited to 25-30% in 75-70% of virgin material. As
shown in Fig. 4-1, Duracon shows little change
in its properties when recycled ten times using 100% recycled
material each time. However,
attention should be paid to gradual discoloration.
Matters requiring attention during recycling
Avoid contamination : Dust and foreign matter
may lead to breakage of the molding.
Eliminate large particles : Problems may occur
in plasticization.
Elimination of powder produced in crushing
is recommended : Eccentric deposition of the powder may cause
problems in plasticization.
