1972   Carborundum (CBO) markets (EKKCEL 1-2000 (copolymer of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, terephthalic acid, and 4,4 '-dihydroxy diphenyl)

1976   Eastman Kodak announces X-7G, a liquid crystal type polyester modified with -p-hydroxy benzoic acid (PHB)

1979  
Sumitomo Chemical Develops Ekonol E2000 series using its own technology.

1984  
CBO technology is sold to Dart, and its subsidiary Dartco (now Amoco) markets a heat resistant type I LCP (Xydar).

1985  
Celanese (now Ticona) debuts a Type II LCP (VECTRA) with a good balance of heat resistance and processability. Polyplastics starts imports into Japan and marketing in the same year.

1996  
Polyplastics completes Polymer Plant at its Fuji Plant.

2001   Polyplastics expands Polymer Plant at its Fuji Plant.
