As a good corporate citizen, the Polyplastics Group makes every effort to build reciprocal relationships with the people in local communities and works to maintain a better society.
Social Contribution Policy
In December 2007, the Polyplastics Group established its Social Contribution Policy, indicating its approach to social contribution efforts.
According to the Group Conduct Policy, the Polyplastics Group shall contribute to the healthy and sustainable development of society as a good corporate citizen. Furthermore, the Group shall encourage each and every employee to enhance their personal growth and improve their self-esteem through continued activities and support that will further the fruitful co-existence of our Group and society.
- We shall contribute to the development of a prosperous and sustainable society by supplying engineering plastics and applying our technology and development capabilities in our business activities.
- We shall utilize our Group resources and do whatever we can to find solutions to the problems besetting society.
- We shall value our relationships with local communities and promote activities rooted in those communities.
- We shall encourage and support the voluntary social participation of each and every one of our employees.
Social Contributions through Our Business
Plastics have become an indispensable material to modern society. Engineering plastics, in which the Polyplastics Group specializes, are particularly significant contributors to the improvement of a wide range of products that are essential to our lifestyles, making those products lighter, more compact and safer.
Recently, Polyplastics has been directing its energies toward developing and supplying materials to cope with today's strong demand for weight reduction solutions to improve the fuel economy of automobiles and for the development of environment-responsive products.
Briefing Session on Environmental Efforts Held
Every June is Environment Awareness Month and neighborhood representatives are invited to the Fuji Plant for the Environmental Monitoring Meeting, a regularly held briefing session on our environmental efforts. For the session we use Polyplastics' "Environmental and CSR Report" and other materials to explain our principal environmental efforts, and listen directly to guest opinions, which are reflected in the company's environmental protection activities.
From the general public's perspective, a chemical plant is not usually something that is generally well understood. We thank all the members of the General Affairs Department at the Fuji Plant for kindly providing information on environmental issues. When we are given detailed information, we can immediately relay it to local residents during our regular briefing sessions.
Furthermore, on the subject of the environment, safety is naturally of particular importance. For example, please place time limits on the comings and goings of large trucks and report the handling of any hazardous materials.

Air and water quality are important to local residents. Judging by the reports from the monitoring meetings, I rate Polyplastics' responses to prevent air and water pollution very highly. As there are a variety of types of smoke and dust, I thought that it would be good if I could get more detailed information.
In addition, on this occasion we were shown traffic signs and slogans posted inside the plant. Through the Fuji Plant tour, we easily understood Polyplastics' well-educated and organized attitude and character.
