Environment, Safty, Health & Hygiene Management System
In 1997, we introduced an Environment, Safety, Health & Hygiene management system and formulated a set of management policies and activity guidelines that are updated and improved on a continuing basis. In 2006, our new plant in Nantong, China started up operations. On this page we describe specific targets and other management-related matters in regard to our ESH efforts at our plant and business facilities.
Management Policy of “Environment, Safety, Health & Hygiene”
We take a global perspective in our activities, and are committed to our “Environment, Safety, Health & Hygiene” policy in order to contribute to a better society.

- *Activity in which a chemical company itself sets and pursues its own objectives for “Environment, Safety, Health & Hygiene” throughout all cycles of development, manufacture, distribution, end use and disposal of a chemical substance. Continuous improvement efforts are called “RC”(Responsible Care). We have long been conducting such activities, and for simplicity we use the term “ESH”(Environment, Safety, Health & Hygiene) activities.
Guideline for “Environment, Safety, Health & Hygiene” Activities
In order to realize our “Environment, Safety, Health & Hygiene” management policy, we develop the specific activity plans shown in the right box and practice them continuously and steadily with the participation of all employees.

Specific Tasks and Targets for Environmental Load Reduction
Principle tasks and targets, our performance thus far, and timelines for implementation and achievement of targets for past and ongoing environmental load reduction activities are shown in the chart below. We strictly comply with environmental laws and regulations and the voluntary standards set by the chemical industry. But we go beyond this by setting our own voluntary targets to reduce environmental load.
